James Forest has played drums and percussion since the 6th grade. He also plays piano and sings backup harmonies. He is a fan of many different musical genres and groups. Influences include 70s-90s rock (Dire Straits, U2, Journey, Styx, Police, Van Halen, Def Leppard), jam bands  (Goose, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, SCI, DMB), progressive rock (Rush,  Genesis, Boston, Pink Floyd), blues (Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Albert  King, Stevie Ray), metal (Metallica, Ozzy), acoustic (CSNY, Eagles),  country (John Denver, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks), classical (Mozart), jazz (Marsalis family, Miles Davis),  legends (James Brown, Stones, Who, Clapton, Traffic, Santana, Doors) and, of course, the Muppets.
